A BILL To amend the CARES Act to remove a requirement on lessors to provide notice to vacate, and for other purposes. SECTION 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Respect State Housing Laws Act . SECTION 2. Clarification The CARES Act ( Public Law 116-136 ) is amended, in section 4024 ( 15 U.S.C. 9058 ), by striking subsection (c). February 25, 2026 Reported with an amendment, committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union, and ordered to be printed
