A BILL To prohibit Federal procurement of certain optical transceivers, and for other purposes. SECTION 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Securing National Security Systems from Chinese Optical Transceivers Act of 2026 . SECTION 2. Prohibitions on the procurement of certain optical transceivers Section 5949 of the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 ( Public Law 117-263 ; 41 U.S.C. 4713 note) is amended-- (1) in subsection (a)-- (A) by striking semiconductor products or services each place it appears and inserting semiconductor products or services or covered optical transceivers ; and (B) in paragraph (2)(A)-- (i) in clause (iii)-- (I) by striking the effective date and inserting the applicable effective date ; and (II) by striking ; or and inserting a semicolon; (ii) in clause (iv), by striking the period and insert ; or ; and (iii) by adding at the end the following new (2) in subsection (b), by striking on a date later than the effective date described in subsection (c) each place it appears and inserting of the prohibitions under subsection (a) ; (3) in subsection (c)-- (A) in paragraph (1)-- (i) by striking The prohibitions under subsection (a) and inserting the and (ii) by adding to the end the following new and (B) in paragraph (2)-- (i) …
